There is a story about the frog boiling in the pan of hot water – essentially, it says that if you drop a frog into a pan of water that is at boiling point it will leap back out and avoid being boiled alive.
However, if you place a frog in a pan of cool water and gradually increase the heat it will slowly, and unwittingly, boil alive – it just doesn’t realise it is happening until it is too late.
So my question to you is this, what future issues in your business are bubbling away, innocuously, which will gradually rise in temperature until the point of no return?
You may say ‘nothing’…and that is a dangerous answer.
Look at your talent.
Look at your market.
Look at your future required capability.
Predictive problem solving, seeing around corners, is the next frontier of effective management.
I talk about this a lot, because it matters.
See if you can turn down the temperature on future issues.
You will be glad you did
