I have a coaching service that I call the High Impact Shift. The premise behind putting this together was that when I work within organisations, there is often a demand from people to want to do some coaching with me one on one. Sometimes this has been built into the project scope but most times it hasn’t.
It also occurred to me that the people that require coaching might not want to spend weeks being coached in order to see results, they want results fast!
This synergy resonated with me. I use coaches for my own development. If I am requiring a change in perspective or I need to move to a new level of performance or capability I want to create this change quickly. Therefore, the coaches I choose are people whom I know will be able to effect rapid change with me; they are upfront, confronting, skilful and honest. Just what is needed to shift gears.
So High Impact Shift coaching is designed to do exactly that. Create a rapid shift that has high impact in terms of results. It is only one session (not ongoing) and really will only appeal to those who are committed to making a game changing shift in their career and earnings.
I want people to leave that session with strategies and actions that will genuinely “change the game” for them – if they apply them!
Plenty of people say they want to be better, make more money; progress in their career etc. but not very many take action.
If you are sales leader – try this exercise with your team. During one of your team meetings hold up an object that people might want (free bottle of water, coffee, $10 bill, a book etc) and ask if anyone wants it, as it’s going free. Watch what happens next; plenty of people will raise their hand or say they want it but how many take action, get up off their chair, walk over and take it..? Your role is to just wait. Don’t give it to anyone, just wait quietly and see if anyone moves.
What’s the point to this exercise? Plenty of people will make noise but few take action.
High Impact Shift is designed only for those people that take action – otherwise no shift will occur.
Change doesn’t happen unless things change! Now that seems really obvious and what I mean by that is that significant change will not take effect unless there are often some major changes to the behaviours and actions across all areas of life.
There are reasons, patterns, disciplines, behaviours that very successful people do. High Impact Shift coaching looks to see how you can transplant these success traits into your life and make them work for you.
But first have a think about this…
- What is your current situation (re career, earnings etc.)?
Are you happy with that?
If no, why must this change now?
What is the impact of not changing?
- Where do you want to get to? (career progression, earnings, performance etc.)
- Why must this happen?
- What do you need to learn and/or change in order to bridge that gap? (skills, attitude, habits etc.)
- What 3 actions can you take immediately/today that will start the journey towards what you want?
These are simple questions. You have probably seen them before. Have you answered them before though..? and have you taken action immediately towards the attainment of that which you decided you wanted to achieve?
Clarity; knowing the landscape through which you need to navigate is the first critical step…it doesn’t have to be perfect. But you must identify in which direction to head and why.
