This week I am speaking at the Sales Transformation Asia conference in Singapore; and as you might guess, transformation is on the agenda!
Shared throughout the conference were examples of companies encountering rapid decline in certain markets or overall as a business. The pace of change being too great for some to adapt to.
Rodhal Leong-Lyons, VP Sales Operations APAC at Hyatt, postulated that the challenge for many global players is how to overcome the decades of historical thinking and habits that have worked until now but will no longer work in today or tomorrow’s environment.
Of particular concern is being able to accurately decide on what to keep doing and what notto keep doing! After all the only sure fire way of finding out what isn’t going to keep working is to keep doing it until it fails – not a great strategy!
So as leaders where do you start your journey of transformation?
Well, try this on for size;
If you left your role today and your replacement started tomorrow, what changes would they make straight away?
Often the answer is a something that we haven’t yet got the courage to execute. Its a bold move, an intrepid play. But it might be just what your sales org needs to charter the way forward.
Which then leaves us with just one more question….
